I can’t stand or set upright very long a time. I think it due to some deformity in my chest and back bone. I need to lay back to rest it the more I work the more I need the rest it cause it feel like some one sticking a knife in my back anywhere between my nick and down to end of my ribs and also shoot around in the front of the ribs cage . If I continue working and pushing it I eventually freeze up, yes I try meds it doesn’t work. I can’t learn very well cause when I was little I had chronic ears infection and still do my doctor said that has something to do with and I have A.D.D to add to it that connected to my recall, long term, short term memory it just a too much of a struggle to keep up you know can’t make the grades. With both of my problem together I can not keep a job

Most of the people I work with who have hidden disabilities have been turned down at least twice, though, it's a very individual thing. In your situation it is helpful to have detailed clinical documentation about both conditions, your learning disability and your back injury.

There's a great group on the internet made up of people in your situation helping each other out. Go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ssadisability/

None I never wanted it! The disability label was forced on me in Canada and I'm stuck with
it! The only advantage is I get a measly check
and don't have to work for it! The disadvantage is you have a hard time to get off of it! Employers don't want to hire you if you're
on disability cause they think you're trying to beat the system! Disability is a bad thing.. you should thank your lucky stars you're not forced on it! If you want to be forced on it come to Canada and become a Canadian Citizen and perhaps you will get it forced on you... just don't let them know its what you wanted!
Something I don't want to be stuck on and I'd
go to the U.S if that wasn't becoming such a dictatorship.

I have diabetes and am on insulin, they will no longer let me have a cdl and yet the ss administration says I can still drive a truck, I have only been turned down once. But that was 18 months ago. As much as I hate it I got a lawyer. But I still think they will give me a rough time because I don't walk with a limp.

I have been trying to get it for my son who is a minor, got turned down 2 x he has an invisible disability but they told me that because I have life insurance on both of us and I have a 401k plan that we cant get it. I have to pay for all of his meds and copays and it adds up. I wonder if I die, would SSI bury me? I am going to try again but I have to gather up the energy again.

It's really hard to get it with more visible handicaps, and you have to be really poor.
