Yes just a few weeks ago. The waiter's breath smelled like **** and he had a weird lazy eye and he was dirty...
We ordered drinks and didn't even touch them... We gave the hostess $10.00 to cover the drinks and a few bucks so that maybe he would be able to buy himself some toothpaste?

I do not blame you. After 30 minutes without being acknowledged, that should be expected. They could have seated you and gave you menus and brought ice water and offered you a beverage or appetizer if their was a long wait. Also, I think being open and honest goes a long way. If they were short staffed, having problems etc, they should say, there is a delay today because XXX and we apologize and hope to correct the problem soon. Would you mind waiting? Also, many places may offer a discount for your patience and inconvenience too. I would give them another try but if it continues to be an ongoing problem after a few attempts there, move on. Chances are that any restaurant will have days like that, but if it continues all the time they probably won't stay in business long. I say, give them the benefit of the doubt and give them a second chance.

Yeah, a couple of times. The most memorable was waiting for an hour and a half to be seated with my wife's friends I didn't even know that well. So, it was kind of akward trying to make small talk at the bar for that long. Once we were seated, we sat there for another 20 minutes without even getting a menu. That sucked, and did it for us, and we walked out. Not before I yelled at the manager though. The thing is, there were like 5 tables around us that were empty. If you go out to dinner, the service is part of the whole experience. If you haven't even ordered, there really is no obligation for you to stay. By the way, that restraunt was Joe's Crab Shack and you would have to pay me a lot of money to get me to go back there.

yes. I knew it was going to be bad from the start as we stood there for about 5 mins at the door waiting to be seated in a not busy restaurant, when finally seated waited another 10 mins before the server even noticed us to come and take a drink order, as she finally arrived we got up and said thank you a little too late. We were in the mood to celebrate and spend some money having great food and a few bottles of wine, we were staying at a hotel nearby and had no worries about driving or having anywhere to go.

Don't blame you for leaving! That was way too long to wait. Yes, I have left a restaurant without eating. For the same reason's you did or that they didn't have anything that we wanted or the price was rediculous. Another one is that they were really dirty.

Yes I have a couple of times. The waitpeople just looked at us and didn't even say anything like they were busy and would get to us as soon as they could or anything. They obviously saw we were there they were just rude. So we left because when we actually got the service we expected it would be horrible anyway.

I went to eat in the micro-brewery at the Empire State Building. I got fish and beer and both were so bad that I paid and left without eating or drinking the beer.

Yes - after being seated, I only wait a maximum of ten minutes - then I am off.

Went to use the restroom, as soon as the lights were switched on, the roaches went crawling out of sight. Need I say more.
