They need the url, which I guess. is the site where the problem happened. And they want the browser version. What do they mean by the browser version? Do they mean mine? I have signed up with road runner. Are they talking about that? I'm asking because I'm very new to the internet and doing things beyond my limited knowledge, and that's why I keep getting into trouble and creating many problems for myself. If anyone can guide me, please respond.

Guys! Thanks Here's the thing. I'm new to the internet and need very simple, basic jargon. Step by step.
to recap. I use internet explorer,, the one with the big E, whenever I go into the internet.
Next, the problem I'm having is my laptop, which came with many programs installed a Windows Media File. Somehow I botched it up. Now, when I go into that secret place where all the programs are And their size of installation----- across from the Windows Media File is blank. So, I suppose that that file has nothing, blank, notta, - and as a result-----that's probably why the movie-rental company can't locate the media file, so I can watch movies. Does this make sense?

I try to explain things very simply, because I got road runner involvd, microsoft, and now HP. But, of course, if there is something I can do, without getting any company involved---then that would keep my bloodpressure down. There are nice movies, but I can't watch them.

To make clear - the movie company won't let me watch movies, because they can't locate the media file.

O K --the little item you click onto when you start off down the internet highway and encircles the webpages that you visit-- is your browser--

May be that you are using Internet Explorer --- Firefox---or Opera (???)---the icon you click onto to bring that puppy up would usually be carrying the name of the browser--in some cases it will also be carrying the version number---for instances IE 6 would be Internet Explorer version 6----

If this is not the case ---you may have to click into the control panel---click into the Add or Remove Programs tab---rifle through the list of your on board programs until you find your browser name---and there---for sure---will be the browser version number !!!

Hope this helps---and don't feel unaccomplished and inept---we all started at the beginning at one time or another--and have ALL had our mistakes and screw-ups--you're gonna do just fine--take your time--go with what you know--learn a little every day--and in no time at all--you'll be screwing up BIG TIME like the rest of us that have been doing this for quite some time !!!

What browser do you use? Internet explorer is an example of a browser. Firefox is another browser. Netscape also has one.
There are others for the mac as well. What ever version you are using go to where it says help and down to about internet explorer if that is what you are using and it will tell you which version you are on. Most are on version 6.0 for internet explorer. The url is where you type the web address .. http://www.. extetera. You can copy and paste the web address into an e-mail if necessary. What is the specific trouble you are having? You don't mention what exactly the problem is. The more specific you are the better your answers will be. Just a suggestion.
Hope this helps.

Browser is the program that you are using to write this question.

If you are using IE (Internet explorer) as your browser, click on "help" and then "About Internet Explorer" to find out your browser's version.

If you are using Firefox, "Help" and then "about Mozilla Firefox".

both ways should let you see your browers version..
