A word becomes real when it is understood by a large population. Bootylicious was created but is now understood by a large part of today's youth. Whether it makes it into the next Webster's dictionary depends on if it continues to be used.

Actually, it was a word first coined by Snoop Dogg. He only used it in one song, though. Beyonce used it most recently. It is not in Webster's, but it may soon be added. Sad.
