I'm looking for a good 30min-1hr downloadable podcast explaining the basics of "string theory" and similar stuff (M theory etc.) - anyone know of a good site or rss feed?

I know nothing of such things, for I am just an unfrozen caveman physicist. Sometimes strange things in your new and modern world frighten and confuse me. But there is one thing that is just as true today as it was when I was growing up in prehistoric times; you may download many audio files at the links provided.

- With apologies to the late Phil Hartman.

I don't know of a podcast but an excellent book in The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene.

The book gives you the basics in General relativity and Quantum Mechanics (the two main elements of String Theory) and then details the beginnings of String Theory and then goes on to expand this to M-Theory and beyond.

Well worth a read, look for it on amazon below!
