with my first pick because i think he's going to have a big year like in 04. last yr, he had a off year so with edgerrin out this yr, he's gonna have to pass more and he'll get more touchdowns, i say over 35 which will easily beat any RB's, so it makes a lot of sense to take him.

the only place it's acceptable to take a QB in the first round is if you have one of the last 2 picks, so you can still get a top RB with your 2nd pick.
I've never had Peyton, because I'm dead set against taking a QB so early. There are a lot of QB's who can get you good numbers a few rounds later; but all the quality RB will be long gone by then.

Do not take Manning over Johnson, Tomlinson, or Alexander. No QB should be picked higher than 4th this year, not with those RBs on the board.
Your league probably has a lot more yards/pt for QBs than RBs, too, so take that into consideration, not just the TDs. And btw, not having much of a running game is going to hurt Manning, not help him. If the Colts are dependent on the passing game in big situations, other teams will blitz Manning more than ever. If there was a good running game, there would be more of an element of surprise, so when Manning does throw the ball, he'd be able to make better passes. And more throws means more picks and more stress on his arm by the end of the season.
Do what you want, but I absolutely would not take Manning first overall.

Do not pick Manning. I repeat do not pick Manning. Draft either Larry Johnson, Stephen Alexander, or LT. In every draft the first pick is one of those rb. You can pick up qb depth in later rounds, but the running backs will fly off the board.

I had this same dilemma this morning when I drafted with the first pick. My plan could backfire if the team that drafts peyton thinks he will have a great season (like he will) but otherwise, do as I did: Draft L.T. or LJ with your first pick, depending on which player the team who will get Peyton (5th or 6th pick) wants more. Then, draft the RB, trade LJ/LT and another player for Peyton and a another starter.

always take a stud RB first. You can still get quality QBs in the later rounds, but there are only so many good RBs so take them when you've got the chance.

Go ahead, take Manning. Let someone else win your league.
