I am an African. You are an American.?
You spell color and I spell colour. Now why do you say I can't spell. You take the quickest route out.
Now look at the differences. I would say you do not know how to spell or write.

It all depends on which side of the pond you grew up on. Spelling wasn't very standardized until the U.S. left Britain. When Noah Webster created his dictionary, he tried to keep spelling as simple as possible, so he used the spelling "color" instead of "colour," among others. We've used it ever since.

provided that you were born in the U.S.A or in one of it's military bases....then yes you will be considered american

to use the term "American" to mean someone who is white would be a horrible miss-conception
