I sell clothing. I do ok, but the best money I ever made was on some apple dishes. The mixing bowls went for 179.00. The clothes are hit and miss. I think Little Tykes Toys sell good and baby clothing in lots w/name brands. The older dishes sell really well. My sister in law sells Red Hat Lady items and makes a killing off it. That's how I got started. Like w/any thing you must start off slow and work your way up. Good luck to you my friend!!!

Instead of making money ON eBay why don't you utilize its viral power?
Write a short 3-4 page report and sell it for 99c or 1c. After purchase, direct the buyer to a download page where they can also sign up for your newsletter or purchase a higher priced product.

I sell ebooks and software on eBay and am doing well with my ebay shop.
My best selling items at moment are Private Label Items $35 & a Paul McCartney ebook i have for sale at $10.
