I am very defensive and its not about perception its about how the person is being talked to and what kind of voice tone is being taken and also the body language that is being taken in the conversation.

Most people feel defensive because they feel a lot safer with that shell encasing them, protecting them from further hurt. I find myself on the defensive in certain situations because I know where it'll lead. You never know the reason why a person is so defensive and sometimes it gets on other people's nerves. So, thats my opinion of why I'm defensive.

I believe most people are defensive because it has to do with attitudes. Some people see themselves against the world. They think they are always right and no other way about it. It's sad to see that not to many people put themselves in other people's shoes to find out their perspective. If people would care about others the way most care about themselves we would be living in a much world. It's all about what's best for me and who cares about the rest. I ask, where's the love man ? lol

I think it has alot to do with the up bring of people. The surrounding environment does alot to people. If your family is like that, you might be also.
And if a person has a rough life they might tend to be defensive.
I.E., dumped by a bunch of people.

i don't know why people are that way...but when you go to other countries like Africa or many parts of latin america you will find most people are very humble
