The info is out there, you just have to look for it a bit. If you would have given your rough location, I could have taken you right to the info.

The climate prediction center gives an indication of warmer/cooler or just plain average temperatures & precip.

Then you should look at climo data to give you an idea of what normal is. Go to http://weather.gov and enter in your zip code. Then go look for a "local climate" link over on the left side of the page. The name may not exactly match that, but it should be close. From there, you need to find avg high/low data for the month of October for the location nearest to you.
