There's two kinds of smoke from a car. One is whitish and is caused by vaporized coolant and the other is gray/blue and is caused by burning oil.
If your smoke is light gray or white, you probably have a blown head gasket and coolant is getting into a cylinder and vaporizing. If you have gray/blue smoke, you are burning oil. Try an oil with higher viscosity or an oil additive that adds viscosity to the oil you already have. (An example is STP Oil Treatment, if that is still around.) These can help a little but not much.
You can be burning oil for a variety of reasons. One is leaky valve stem oil seals, which are usually not that hard to fix. Another is worn piston rings, which is a major repair.

Sounds like the truck is burning oil.
I don't know of any way to temporarily stop a truck from doing this.

Trying to stop the smoke, so you can sell the truck to some unsuspecting soul?
That's evil.

they sell all kinds of anti-smoke products at auto parts stores...sounds like your cylinder rings are getting worn and oil is leaking into the combustion chambers...
