I wish some of the words were divided.

The nation is not, and never has been, and doubtlessly ever will be, monolithic in mind. The closest we came was World War II, and that was because the evil was so clear, but even when we began that war we were not all of one mind. The same happened during the Civil War, which is what made the war, we were divided. I like to think the right side won for the wrong reasons (preserving national unity) and for the wrong side was defending the right thing (states rights) on the wrong issue (slavery).

During the revolutionary war, it was such a painful victory because we were so divided. Had we been more unified, it would have magnified the effectiveness and focus of the efforts and gained the success much, much earlier. Democracy, even with the stabilities of its republican form, is more like water than stone. Even ours. It has always been that way. Even today.

They may be divided about methods not goals. They have similar goals but just differ in the way of achieving this goal.

I think that,as long as this division stops at the level of peacful division, this is good for community.
