Depends what your ultimate career goal is. Honestly I think you have to be an RN before you can go on to the BSN. The BSN will open up more doors in management. Then if you want more keep going to school for your MSN... this can get you into upper level management and even teaching.

If you are wanting to get into management or advanced practice nursing, it is required that you have your B.S.N. BSN programs have managment classes and ASN programs do not. However, you can always get your ASN and then go back to school to get your BSN.
