Right before I graduated college I had a similar problem. It was also May of 02. So, 9-11 was still very much on everyones mind. Anyway, I was having what I is now called panic attacks. I was also having difficulty sleeping and also wanted a natural remedy. My doctor suggested trying warm milk but I hate milk. She also told me to try eating half a bagel with peanut butter. The same chemical found in warm milk is found in the bagel. So, instead of warm milk a bagel with peanut butter has the same effect. She also told me to limit my caffeine intake. This included all caffeine drinks coffee, tea, and soda. Also, she recommended I not drink anything at least 1 1/2 hrs. after going to bed since I would wake up to use the bathroom. These pointers seem simple but when you have to adapt them they do become difficult. Try it out see if it works you have nothing to lose! Good luck.

Try Kava Kava tea by Yogi tea.

A quote about Kava from yogi tea's website:

" Best of all, kava is also very successful in inducing sleep. It acts as a calming hypnotic, not a sedative, allowing the sleeper to drift off without a morning hangover. "

Melatonin from Wal Marts. Not to be used every night though cos it stops working if you do.
Best thing I have found to keep me asleep.

Or

Ask your partner to alternate who gets up to sort out your son if he wakes in the night. Why is it always left to mommy to sort out?
