No he really doesn't have the right to be an a$$hole, but I always look at it this way, diabled people feel sorry for themselves and from a certain point of view they have a right to be. It's not fair at all to be disabled. They shouldn't be that way, but we'll never quite understand how they feel, we're not disabled. Dont punish him with harsh words or even stoop to his level, remember he's already being punish on a daily...every morning when he wakes up disabled.

Well yes and no, you shouldn't go off on him but definetley say something if hes yelling obscenities with your children around. The other thing is you dont know what this person could have gone through there whole life, it may have nothing to do with their disability at all as much as you may think so. Look some people with disabilities think the world owes them because they were robbed of something everybody else has for free, I WOULD BE PISSED TO. Think if you were in a wheelchair you might possibly never have had your children, you wouldnt have the life you DO HAVE. Think from both sides, Iam not saying its right for these people to be beligerent for no reason but iam saying they have a right to be a little disappointed in life.

It sounds like the apartment complex itself is falling apart if he can hear you walking up and down the stairs! Move to a more solid apartment complex where sound doesn't travel through walls. I am disabled because of a horrific hate crime. My face was smashed by a black gang on Christmas Day a few years ago and half of my face doesn't work and is severe pain. When I'm in my apartment I scream at the walls! The building is made of concrete and I could fire a howitzer canon and no one would hear me. The point is he is in pain and miserable. If he is doing it purposely so you can hear him, that is wrong. He could be mentally ill, too. You are doing the right thing by leaving.

Only because your leaving the place and the person will no longer be a part of your life, I suggest you let your anger go and put your energies into your move and your kids. Look forward, not back. The person in the wheelchair has problems and their problems are not yours. If you must, write him a letter with no return address just to get your anger off your chest and out of your mind--then throw the letter out and try to forget the person ever existed.
Good luck on your move and may peace come to you and your kids. TWH 08292006

Better to have a sweet talk with him and tell him that in spite of his disability he's a jerk and just because he's in a wheel chair it gives him no right to make other people's lives miserable. My son went to school with a boy who was in a wheel chair and was so mean and nasty to others that they wouldn't help him if they could avoid it. If there was a teacher looking, they helped, but out in the halls they just tried to stay away. Maybe they're just bitter about what life handed them, but being mean doesn't win any new friends. Maybe a letter would be a better way to handle your situation. Just making him aware of his affect on others might wake him up and make him change his behavior.

This guy is being a real jerk and a total loser. My best advice is to think about why he is like this. People with disabilities go through a lot. Maybe someone in his past has treated him like crap and now he is taking it out on you. Don't go off on him. You'll only be proving that he is right to be a mean old man. Instead, ignore it. Your moving soon anyway. In the future, don't take your anger out on someone disabled just because this loser did it to you. All disabled people are not like him!

Maybe you should try talking to him instead. If he wont listen...hey he risks the wrath of an angry person by treating people nasty...go off on him. Maybe it will wake him up and he'll relize nobody is going to tip toe around him because he is in a wheelchair. But, do try talking to him instead and asking him why he is so hateful to you.

They're that way so people will hit them. Then they sue you and get attention. I've seen that one several times.
Oh and advance apologies for good wheelchair people,
but these kind of jerks deserve to be taunted, and perhaps
taunted a second time. Three though, would be to many.

I agree, People need to be alot more grateful for thier lives and stop taking little things like having a home, and some money and freedom for granted and respectful to those around you
I do beleive in this world we are only ment to recieve that wich we are able to give no more no less. No matter what the situation is.
