HOW DARE YOU make such a suggetion. The people (large agribusiness and meatpacking companies) who hire illegal immigrants are FRIENDS OF BUSH and must not be harried.
Or penalized.
You do know who owns the USA don't you? It is not you or anyone in the middle class. It is people at Kennebunkport, ME and Midland, TX and Provincetown, MA and places like that.

they're picking your veggies, they're building your houses, they're washing your dishes (in restaurants), they're doing a lot of labor around this country. Actually- I've got a mexican nanny (she's legal), and she's a loving, caring, hard-working, honest and wonderful woman. And my 2 year old is now bilingual. cool!
You'll need to do a lot of "penalizing" of a lot of small business- who basically can't find labor elsewhere- as american's aren't willing to do the work. How the hell are you planning on deporting 12 million people? With what army and at what incredible expense?
My solution is to expand the guest worker program (significantly) so all these 'illegal' workers can be legal workers- and pay taxes!

Another set up for a barage of tyrades about Bush, rich lazy whites, and needy innocent mexicans. Blah blah blah.
I can grow my own veggies, clean my own house, do my own damn minimum wage job. Always have. Always will. Applies to ALL WHITE people I've ever known except the disabled. Rich and white are NOT synonymous. Asian Americans are now the richest race in this country and the rest are old money from Europe and the like.

There is a law penalizing the employers, but no one is upholding it. Most illegals work in factories and menial jobs that no one else wants. They are not about to report their employers, because if they did, they wouldn't have a job.
The employers are geting cheap labor and the illegals are getting bad jobs with low pay and no benefits.

Yes, we should penalize *everyone* caught hiring an illegal for anything; and make the penalty strong enough that it makes a lesson that can be learned.
