It really depends upon whether your provider believes cephalopelvic disproportion is present. In most cases, this is not a reason to induce. (Estimated weight of 9 lbs.) Most women's pelvic outlets can accomodate a much larger baby. What is more important is the size of the head and the width of the shoulders. Weight determined by ultrasound can be off by as much as two pounds. Good luck! You should go any time now on your own.

I wouldn't. Here's why:
-Weight predictions of a fetus can be waaaaaay off
-An induced labor will probably necessitate the use of pain killers b/c your labor will be much more painful. One intervention can lead to another and your chances of having a c/s go up.
-Your baby isn't ready to come out! S/he will come at the right time
-I know plenty of women who have given birth to even larger than 9lb babies with no medical interventions whatsoever. Your body can do it!!
Obviously, you need to work with your care provider on this one, but don't request an induction just because you think the baby *might* be too big.

thats up to your doctor. I went past my due date by a little over week with my first child. She wasn't that big though she was only 6lbs 15ounces. I would just wait you should have an apointment for 40 weeks and they might do a non stress test on you to check the baby out to make sure everything is ok and then if you haven't gone they most likely will schedule to induce you soon. good luck!

If that baby is 9lbs it'll come on its own. Induced labor is a lot worse than natural labor. I know I have two babies...one was induced and one was natural. Natural is the way to go when it's an option.

on the proper of the day, it is your decision and absolutely everyone can do is provide their opinion and adventure in this difficulty. in my view, i'd not abort as i do not see Down's syndrome as a extreme adequate incapacity to justify it. In yet another 2 weeks, your toddler is practicable and stands an excellent danger of survival outdoors of the womb. countless children have survived in neonatal huge care units from 22 weeks gestation onwards. even as there are some well being themes at times linked with the syndrome, quite some Downs toddlers stay fairly chuffed lives. i have general countless in my existence and that i'll actual say that they were plenty happier than maximum of the unaffected toddlers i recognize. also they are very loving. My mum is general with a Downs woman in her previous due 1920s who's actual an actress and has her own residence. i ought to signify you confer with a counsellor before doing something drastic as they are impartial and ought to provide some extremely good suggestion. besides to this, you ought to bypass and word your clinical professional and discover out what worrying for a toddler with Downs actual includes. on the proper of the day, this remains your toddler. Abortion isn't something to be taken gently and ought to reason you everlasting psychological harm. in case you make certain to proceed with your being pregnant, no matter if that's troublesome or not, you'll adjust to having a toddler who needs slightly more beneficial care. i am hoping you're taking care of to achieve a decision that you're chuffed with and choose you each and each of the ideal for the destiny.

If your doctor suggests it, then go ahead. Otherwise, just wait it out.
My boyfriend was just a little over 13lbs when he was born. Highly unusual I know. But his mom carried him to term, wasn't induced and had a natural birth. Both of them were fine.

If you want to be able to push the baby out...definitely get induced ASAP. Or you'll end up needing a C-Section.

The only way they will induce you is if you have an amnio done and if they say the baby can breathe on its own. If you are super uncomfortable go to your OB, and sak for an amnio and induction of labour.
