Have you ever seen the Pentagon? Its huge! It is in layers, almost like concentric circles. It has a very thick, stone outer wall. The blast of the plane was external and extending inside for that part of the fusalage that punctured the wall.
Have you ever seen a plane wreck? Especially those where the fuel is abundant an burns. There is not much to show for it afterwards. Crash sites are more burn sites strewn with litter. I've seen the Pentagon crash pictures. There is absolutely nothing strange or unusual or inconsistent--except that normal people don't commandeer planeloads of people to crash them into buildings.
