was on the internet last night and my laptop (dell inspiron e1505) suddenly stopped and a blue screen came up with white words that said something about a memory parity error. i couldn't restart my computer because the whole system had been halted. i finally got it going again by unplugging it and taking the battery out, then putting it back in again. i thought it was all better, but then it just happened again! I did the battery thing again, but this time i left the computer off, because if it happened twice, it'll happen again and it my hurt my laptop to restart a lot. so anyway, can you please tell me what might be wrong and how i can fix it? thank you!!!

You know what I would do is to shut down the computer (gracefully) and then unplug it and remove the battery. Then, I'd take off the cover of the memory and make sure that the memory is seated correctly (it will need to be lying dow almost flat and exactly in it's slot).

If it's still under warranty, then call Dell. If not, you might still be able to 'chat' with a technician.

There should be a clue on the error page to let you know what is really going on. With Dell systems, as well as most, there is an error code. The code usually looks like this 0X000000F3 for example. This code is followed by several others in brackets. the first one is the key. Surprisingly you can take that code and put it into a Google search and get answers. I'm a technician and that's what I use when I get bothersome errors that I don't know. Normally there is at least one other person out there that is having the same problem. Good luck I hope this helped!

Well two things
1) The Memory ( RAM) is heating up and that could lead to system shutting down with BSD( blue screen of Death)
2) Pocessor can also be the cause.

if in warranty take it to the service centre if not then take it to some good technician who would do a diagnostic test on your pc.
which might take time like 2 to 3 days

seems some pretty serious issue

hope u'r notebook is still in warranty
make a complaint 2 dell immediately

cannot tell if it appears again & when
no simple straight forward solutions 4 sure
but sure some hardware issues, ram & motherboard related i should guess
mention "memory parity error" in complaint log

doubt if any local technician can attend 2 it
need a well equipped test bench !
