I was on the internet last night and my laptop (dell inspiron e1505) suddenly stopped and a blue screen came up with white words that said something about a memory parity error. i couldn't restart my computer because the whole system had been halted. i finally got it going again by unplugging it and taking the battery out, then putting it back in again. i thought it was all better, but then it just happened again! I did the battery thing again, but this time i left the computer off, because if it happened twice, it'll happen again and it my hurt my laptop to restart a lot. so anyway, can you please tell me what might be wrong and how i can fix it? thank you!!!

memory parity errors are hard to diagnose - it could be something to do with the memory itself (replace it) or a hardware problem
If you can, check to see if the memory modules are seated properly. If you are a novice, seek some expert advice. Is the laptop under warranty?

It could be a couple of things. Your RAM could have gone on the fritz. Or your hard drive software could contain some errors. For the RAM, the only option is to replace it with other RAM to see if that fixes your problem since a memory parity error is an error checking that happens in your RAM. It could also be your operating system. If your OS has had some errors creep in to it, it could be giving your computer some different data than what it is expecting. To solve this, restore your hard drive cleanly from CD-restore disks that usually come with systems.

It's not a battery issue. A program on your computer is causing the memory dump error you are seeing. What program/s are open and used when this happens? Make sure you have the latest Windows updates.

You have the Deadly Blue Screen. I had it once. Your memory board is corrupt. It just happens, nothing causes it. I hope you have a warranty. You need to take it to a repair person and be ready to buy a new memory board. Best of luck.
