pop as in the pop you drink is a carbonated beverage or soda.....pop is also a sound that is made such as busting a ballon .....pop as in music is what is popular at the moment i hope i answered it somewhere there

northern new england slang for soda...":soda pop" Sometimes gets confusing...here in CT, if we say, "lets go out for a pop"..we mean an alcoholic drink...folks from Mass think we are inviting them out for a pepsi..lol

Sodapop. Its what used to be the term for soda drinks which you could only get from a soda jerk. In other words, its an ancient word.

Short for "soda pop". Sometimes people shorten it to pop, sometimes to soda. (In my town, soda was short for baking soda! So we just said pop.)
