I have purchased the Audacity, vocal remover program, and I have read all the file information and still can't get anything right.

If anyone is familiar with this program, Can you please give me some tips on how to get mp3 from CD to this program to remove the vocals? How to make them into waves? Please!

Sincerely
Evy

If you want to extract WAV files from your CDs, you can use a tool like Exact Audio Copy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/ ). It's free, and it's about the best CD ripper you can get.

If you want to turn WAV files into MP3s, I highly suggest using LAME (http://lame.sourceforge.net/ ). Again, it's free, and it's about the best MP3 conversion tool you can find.

I don't know Audacity, but one way to remove vocals is to use a tool like Goldwave (http://goldwave.com/ ). It can mix the two channels out of phase, which eliminates nearly everything that's mixed dead-center -- where most lead vocals are placed. You do this by selecting Effect -> Stereo -> Channel Mix, and then using the "Cancel Vocals" preset.

Goldwave isn't free, though you can try it out for free to see if it meets your needs.
