I was going to suggest dryer sheets but sounds like you tried that already. How about sprinkling in some baby powder or baking soda? Otherwise, I would call the store where you bought it and ask them if you can exchange it for one less stinky or to at least find out if the odor will go away.
Good luck -

You bought a leather handbag for your enjoyment. You are not a cleaning person. An odor that is long standing, must not be a problem ever for you. You are the customer, the recipient of a consummable item, that you like. Since you are having this problem, take it back. See if the store has the same item without the odor or demand the return of your money. Only your feelings are of concern here and no one else. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

Sounds like someone sold you a goat leather handbag. This kind of leather is smelly and gets worse when it has been wet (by rain for instance) In Arabia people say you only give goat leather stuff to people you dont like. I dont think there is a way to get the smell out.

Sounds weird but spray it with 1 part vodka, 2 parts water mixture. the finer the mist the better. Sit it outside or in a low blowing fan. May take a few applications for the desired effect.

Have you tried putting some baking soda in it and letting it sit?
Is this a "leather " odor, or something that got in it?

can you return it? my son gave me a wallet from a kit once, he made it in boy scouts. it smelled awful. I immersed it in baking soda. I rubbed it with baking soda. Nothing helped. So I just use the stinky wallet on occasion when he is looking, out of love.
