I'm not American and I don't live there, but I watch many American TV series via satellite connection or local networks. A particular joke I don't get is Martha Steward. Whatever they say about her, people laugh. I'm not asking your opinion about Martha Steward. I'm asking what is it that people make fun of about her? Thanks.

Typically American - she earned more money through her businesses while she was in prison than she would have if she had not gone inside............... (she played the American Dream).

What the others said. She's a real perfectionist, and her projects are often difficult or fussy. My brother and I love her, but that's because our mom is both a good homemaker and a good businesswoman, too.

Oh, and when a woman knocks herself out to make a good party or pretty crafts or something, people often call her "Martha."

Martha Stewart's a woman who gives advice about and has a television program, a magazine and products about home improvement and decorating, but she's said to have an inconsistent temperament, sometimes unpleasant, and she went to jail for shady investments.
