Sorry, but vinyl is still the best for records. Cd's sound vacant. I still use my tapes and the sound is fine. Just because YOU do not like something does not mean there is no demand for it. I will keep my VHS tapes, thanks.

I buy VHS tapes (Elmo's World, Thomas the Tank Engine, etc.) for my two young sons. I know DVD quality is much higher, but it's also about twice as expensive as VHS in most situations. If something is going to be ruined by a 2 1/2 year old, I'd rather it be a $9.99 VHS tape than a $19.99 DVD. :) Same goes for the players. We moved our very expensive DVD player from the living room to our bedroom because if either of my sons destroyed it, we couldn't afford to replace or repair it. We bought a $39.99 VCR for them to watch their tapes. Those things are a dime a dozen...if it breaks or the kids ruin it, we can replace it very easily and not bat an eyelash at the cost.

Even though the way the information is stored has long since outdated films, and tapes. THere are still many things that can not or have not been transcribed on different forms of media. As for it being flawed, NO! just because it's not up to date dosen't mean it is wrong.

People like me use Tapes/video tapes. I'm still in college and sometimes I don't know if I will get to eat. I have an old video recorder that I still use because I want to capture moments of my family, regardless the quality. I can't afford to spend all the $$$

Perhaps you could tell me which technology isn't flawed. People still use the old media because it's cheaper to stick with that than to upgrade. I guarantee you that in 2 years you'll be seeing the question "Why are people still using DVDs? That's ancient technology!"

Not everyone is able to enter the information age at the same pace. You DO realize that not everyone owns a computer, a dvd player, etc., don't you?
