Everyone else mentions the korean vs japanese differences. I can also tell by the author's name and that much of manhwa is written left to right (like books in the US are), while manga is right to left.
Is this what you are looking for?

Manwha is the Korean word for "manga". Like the Japanese word, it refers mainly to manga-influenced comics created by Korean artists, with Korean names, themes and sound effects. Which can make it, to the untrained eye, very similar to manga; most people can't spot the difference without looking at the sound effects. In fact, some go so far as to say that there isn't much difference between manwha and manga, and that manwha is just an offshoot of the manga phenomenon

Manga (mahn-gah) and manwha/manhwa (mahn-hwah) are Japanese and Chinese/Korean pronunciations of the same Chinese character that stands for comic (graphic novels). Manhwa is the word that means comic in Chinese and Korean, but I think manwha is the word used in the US for Korean comics. Update: Possibly, manua is the pronunciation for Chinese comics, while manhwa is just the Korean pronunciation for comic (graphic novel).

manga>> japanese drawn comic
manhwa>> korean drawn comic
Normally I look at the name of the author. Art wise there's not so much of a differents, but I think Japanese art are cleaner and the bishounens looks better. but hey, that can be just me.
