My 4 year old albino guinea pig's teeth are turning black at the tips and she is drooling alot. she is acting fine otherwise, and getting enough to eat and drink. What could be wrong with her?

she has been fine for 4 or 5 years, so it shouldent be misalined teeth

sounds to me like she needs something to chew on to keep her teeth wore down.

Guinea pigs should not be given salt licks. It sounds like malocclusion. That's when the teeth don't wear properly. Eventually she will stop eating and die. You need to have her seen my a vet ASAP. The vet will probably trim her teeth and she may need them trimmed for the rest of her life.

Guinea pigs can live up to 7 years but most people don't know how to care for them properly so they die way earlier.

If I remember correctly, guinea pigs do not have an average lifespan of more than 3.7 years. Yours may just be getting old enough for the teeth to lose vitality and undergo color changes. The salt lick may be contributing.

ive had my guinea pigs for 4 years and they are fine but honestly sweet 'eart i dont think your guinea pigs alright at all take her to the vet if you had black teeth wudnt u go to the dentist?

I'm not sure what that could be, but it definitely doesn't sound normal. I would take her to the vet just to make sure it's nothing serious. They will be able to tell you exactly what it is and how to treat it.
