First, try to push out all negative thoughts with positive thoughts, wear bright colors/or light ones, read your Bible as much as possible, get some fresh air outdoors, help other people (if nothing more than giving a nice comment to bring a smile to thier face)! Also sex does help relieve stress. Do something YOU enjoy at least one thing per day. Pray for others. You can always keep your mind busy in a very good way by doing that.
I do and have gone through the same thing. So believe me, I know it is hard to do anything at times, But you must at least keep trying with different things. And SMILE whether you feel like it or not.... and keep smiling everytime it comes to your attention that you are not smiling. Remember: Like attracts Like.

I'm thinking of the Veggie Tales song: "A thankful heart is a happy heart. I'm glad for what I have, that's an easy way to start." When I get blue, I start to actively look for things to be thankful for. I may even write them down so I can review them later. It really helps me.

And maybe do something to help someone else. Sometimes I get down in the dumps because I'm thinking only about myself and my problems. Doing for others can get me out of that rut, too.

Plus, get enough sleep, if you haven't been.

All I can tell you is that you can change your thinking. You can put an interrupter, which is a thought dislodger that disables the negativity with positivity. When you feel depressed say something or think of something that you like. You can use old memories, that works wonders for me. When I'm feeling like no one cares I think of past Christmas's with my grandparents and I can actually be there in my mind and I feel their love for me! Good luck!!
Also watch out for any chemicals that are suppose to make you 'happy' like Zolaft, etc.. I had a boyfriend who took them and then overdosed on them trying to kill himself. They are only supposed to be used in the extreme, but therapists pedal them out like water.

Either you are or your aren't and nothing can MAKE you that way. You might reACT that way but that is fleeting. Maybe just accepting how you are instead of resisitng and struggling against it will bring a feeling of ease, that can often lead to happiness.
I think of feelings as passing clouds, sometimes they are there other itmes not. Trying to rely on feelings is like building a house on sand.

Just like you can't change someone, you can't make them happy. They are the only one with the power to make this happen.
But, you can be there and support them. It will be hard, misery loves company.

"Newsweek" had an article recently saying that neurologists have discovered a link between smiling and happiness--previously it was thought that smiling indicated a happy person--now they think smiling can MAKE you happy---fools the brain. So grin away, and enter a world of facial bliss.

Have something rotten happen to the person. Then when the rotten event is over, they'll realize how great they had it and be happy.
