Yesterday my day time running lights on my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville started blinking on and off on thier own. Is it maybe and electrical problem or grounding problem? All other electrical items in the car work fine. I can also hear a faint clicking noise in the dash when they blink. When I turn on the regular headlights, they work fine and stay on but I can still hear the clicking noise.

You should have a mechanic check this out. It could be something as simple as a loose or bad fuse in the fuse panel; or you may have an electrical short which could affect the way your car runs. The clicking noise sounds as if something is not connected properly. Have it checked out. You can replace a fuse yourself, if you have the owners manual, there should be a location of the fuse box indicated in there. You can purchase fuses at an auto supply store. If this does not solve the problem; have a mechanic check it out. Good luck to you.

Look at the amp meter for discharge flickering while you hear the clicking noise. This is a sure sign of a wire going to ground.

I believe you have a loose ground at your lights.
