that lemon pie and lemonade are made with artificial lemon flavoring but dish soap and furniture polish are made with real lemon juice???

Well, I don't know what it says about us as a nation, but you have a very interesting point. :)
However, when we (my family) make lemonade or lemon pie ourselves, we do use real lemons.

I guess because... we consume more food than we use cleaning supplies, so it's easier and cheaper to use the fake stuff in bulk? That and lemon is a very good cleaner.
