all children are different. My oldes son was 15 lbs at 3 lbs, however my youngest is 1 and a half and is only 21 lbs. He was at a steady rate for a long time.
Check with your doctor, they should be able to show u the height and weight chart and tell you if your child is below, average, or above average. thats the best way.

Sounds like you have a tall, slender baby. You can check your daughter's stats on the growth charts (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhanes/growthcharts/set1clinical/cj41c018.pdf) According to this chart, she's off the chart in height, and in the 50% for weight. My daughter is the same way. She's 14 months now. I was a bit concerned that she might be underweight for her height, but her pediatrician said she's fine. Babies do most of their growing in the first 6-9 months, then it starts to slow down a little. Your daughter is probably going to be tall. If her doctor thought there was a problem, they would tell you.

Don't worry about it. Usually at six months they start to slow down in their growth. My son (6 months) is the same way! He's only gained about a pound in the last two months. He's 27 1/2 inches and 18 lbs.
Is she breastfed? My son is...and the peditrican said he looked wonderful. Even though he was just meeting the growth curve. He said to have a long and thin baby is great - despite what our society tells us. In fact, he said that his health will be much better off because of his body shape now. And, he'll have less chance of diabetes and heart problems and the big one obesity because of his body type!

My 6 month old daughter weighs 15lbs 14oz. and is 26 inches long. I think your daughter's height and weight are perfectly normal...not every baby is the same.

Don't get caught up comparing your child. If you were at the doctor, and he didn't seem concerned, then I really wouldn't worry.
If you still are concerned, find a height weight chart online where you can find out what percentile your child is in for his age, but chances are she is just fine.

OMG you gave birth to a mis-sized child! Just kidding. You could probably consult your pediatrician to find out more about height/weight, but as long as the baby is healthy, that's all that matters. I'm sure she is perfect regardless of height/weight.

She just doesn't have alot of baby fat. My son is 14 months 33.5 inches and onley about 22 lbs. We're just exposed to so many chubby and occassionally down right fat babies now that healthy looks too thin.
