There must be a fax option on your computer or your line is crossed, you'll need to call technical support with your phone company.

You have your FAX modem on your computer set to accept incoming calls. Go to your Control Panel and Look for Modems. Find the one you have installed and look in the help file for how "accept incoming calls" or "incoming calls" or "receive fax".
You need to set your modem not to answer incoming calls.

Some lowlife either thinks you have a FAX machine or is trying all the numbers to send FAX spam (illegal!). Try using *69 to get their phone number to report them.

You probably have a dial-up connection to the internet. When your computer is connected to the internet, your phone won't operate.
Time to upgrade to DSL or cable connection. Then your phone will work while you are online.
Alternately, turn your compter off or disconnect your internet connection and the phone should work properly.

I think your computer is set on autodial. It will automatically dialup to the internet every so often. That may be the problem. Hope it helps.

sounds like you have dial-up or dsl... either way, it sounds like your internet connection is through your phone line... the only way to fix it is to get a cable modem, or to get a seperate phone line
