Do the wars in Ramayana & Mahabharata really held ?

PLEASE DO READ MY ANSWER..... MY AIM IS NOT 10 POINTS BUT SOMETHING ELSE. PLEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZ READ IT.......(for asker)
see mate, u won't believe in these until u believe in Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Maharshi Valmiki, Maharshi Ved Vyas.
and do u know the 2 Maharshis(mentioned above-they wrote these texts respectively) were themselves the avataars of God like Ram and Krishna, although they came in the form of rishis. so they wrote these texts to make people aware of the realities of the world. they wanted to convey to the world the so-called leelas of the Lord. they wanted to spread the true message of the Lord. they meant by these epics that ailments are within humans and not outside. Rvana and the Kauravaas represented the ailments of humans. it doesn't mean that everytime on time on earth devils like them only would mean human ailments.todays Osama and Musharraf, and yes the humans' bad deeds themselves r the demons. and like the Lord came 2 slay them, Lord everytime comes to rescue humans out of their own misdeeds in form of avatars. but we humans r the culprits and do not identify Him.u may be knowing that Ram was rebuked by Ravana and other demons who didn't recognise Him; Kansa, Duryodhana didn't recognise Krishna, so how can we recognise God today with these eyes!!! God comes on earth in disguise of human form to fight the devil of human inner world(where He himself lives). how could have God spread this message to us by killing our inner demons like anger, proud, greed, etc? we couldn't have understood!!! so He created a way to explain His children that HE IS ALWAYS PRESENT IN CRISIS FOR THEM, GIVEN THE FACT WE CALL HIM FROM OUR TRUE HEART. and true heart call arises when we see Him!!!! yeah, 'tis true. u open and see these texts. these r not superstitious. THEY MENTION US SCIENTIFIC AND EXTREMELY EASY WAY OF SEEING GOD. AND I'VE SEEN HIM!!!!!! YES MAN U WON'T BELIEVE IT. AND THE PROOF IS U TOO CAN SEE HIM!!! but just refer to these books. do not consider them to be outdated. today's science has not EVEN TOUCHED THE FEET OF our Vedic science. AND I AS A STUDENT OF IIT, AM SAYING THAT... yes our science is far more developed as mentioned in these texts!!! AND WE FOLLOW THE WEST??? these books mention us THE WAY TO SEE GOD. U DON'T HAVE TO DISRUPT UR HOUSEHOLD CHORES EVEN, MAN!!!

THUS THE PRIMARY AIM OF THESE TEXTS IS TO SPREAD SPIRITUAL AWARENESS AMONG PEOPLE ABOUT GOD'S AIM WITH THE HELP OF "REAL LIFE INSTANCES"(just like practicles in science r correlated to get a result) SO THAT IT BECOMES EASY FOR US TO UNDERSTAND.
AND, OF COURSE THESE EPICS ARE REAL.

According to Hindu Mythology the Wars in Ramayana and Mahabharat were really held. The Mahabharata War took place in Kurukshetra ( between Pandavas and Kauravas) and the Ramayana War took place between Ravana and Rama in Lanka.

But again keep in mind that these are mythological happenings.

For Ramayana, there are some evidences. The place where Ravan kidnapped Sita and had kept her prisoner was called Lanka. Today we do have Sri Lanka. People in Sri Lanka do have temples where they worship Ravan as a hero and a God. Not only that but the stone bridge which the ape army created in the book, also have some evidences beneath the ocean depths.

For Mahabharat, a deep craves or a cave has been discovered near Haryana (which was Indraprasta that time) where some skeletons and ancient weapons have been found.

The Mahabharat is more realistic than Ramayana in my view.The reason for war in Mahabharat is also relevent today.It was a war for woman/money/land and all these reason are in continuum from past till date.For the same purpose brother fight with brother,neighbours among themselves states,countries...
If we beleive in today's world and not consider it "maya" then the war of Mahabharat is as true as last world war/Iraq/Afganishtan...
As far Ramayana is concerned it surpassed the fight between human being rather it was "GOD" vs "DEMON".And as far religiousely and scientifically I know the god it is at first not "in Human Form" rather HE is Omni Present/Scient.. and all and as per scientific explanation GOD is nothing but energy rather say Ocean of Energy and of which we are just a part.So in my view Ramayana is very well written epic with a suggestion to follow the path described in them to reach the perfection and we must all try to achieve that standard in our day to day life.If we defy the very gist of Hinduism that HE is not human but a superconcious then only we can beleive that war or whole kingdom actually existed.As far mahabharata is concerned , sorry even the most advanced nation are still at infancy level of weaponaries /Wirelesscommuniaction /missile technology/avaiation/levitation!!! which in the mahabharat war and during that time were used.But at the same time it is quite encouraging to modern world that such thing are really possible although our understanding are the tips of the iceberg.

I think so. But not in the actual forms as described in the epics. those are the remembrance of distant past events. The books are results of poetic imagination plus traditional story-telling of the old ages.

may be as many evidences are found that says they were actually found..like that stone bridge between india and lanka, remains of dwarka which was capital of krishna submerged in the sea, and things like that but who knows..its totally on ur belief

For our own information please note that the bridge discovered by NASA linking India and Sri Lanka is 1,750,000 years old, that is, it already existed much much earlier than the writing of the scriptures.
