I've asked for your favorite Sat morning tv shows, candy&candy bars, theater in your neighborhood, sodapop, and your Mom's laundry detergent. So this 3 parter is for breakfast cereal. And, what did you send away for with your boxtops? Your "prize" cereal doesn't have to match your fave cereal for taste. I guess Cheerios was my fave to eat. My favorite "prizes" were the submarine and frogman which you filled with baking soda, and put them in the sink or bathtub. They would sink and rise to the surface as the soda dissolved. I (actually my Mom), sent away for a Superman tee shirt with boxtops when I was five. Wore it 24/7 for 3 weeks before I would let her wash it. Okay, your turn. The Nostalgia train is about to leave the station. All aboard........

My fav cereals were Coco Puffs and Lucky Charms. I miss those dayz I should go buy some right now. I haven't had cereal in almost a year. SAD I KNOW! Its was nothing like getting the last bit of cereal and having all that sugar that was at the bottom of the bag. I can't really remember too many of the prizes that I got so out of the ones I remember I would have to say my favorite were the animal shaped sponges that came in the plastic tube that looked like a pill. You put them in water and they popped out of the pill thing and took the shape of an animal. I saved some box tops for school once but other than that no.

GREAT QUESTION

Actually I had a heck of a time remembering. So this won't be a complete answer. Captain Crunch was my fav cereal. I think he had a commercial maybe that helped that.
But cracker jacks was the biggest thing (ok it does not count as cereal) but you could eat fast and get a good prizes.
I never collected box tops and never sent off prizes. I obviously do not have that kind of patients!

My favorite cereal was cocoa puffs or fruit loops and the greatest prize I can remember came in the cocoa puffs box, it was a treasure map that looked old and the writing was in calligraphy and I just thought it was really something and I would take it outside and pretend like I was trying to find something. I never mailed in the box tops because I was lazy.

Mine are Cocoa Puffs.

I don't remember any special prizes. I am from a family of 6 kids. So, the prizes didn't last long and the younger kids got the prizes. We didn't have a lot of sugary cereals often, they were expensive (still are) and kids eat a lot cereal! :)

My favorite cereal was Cocoa Crisps....loved the chocolate milk they made as you ate the cereal. Yes, saved the boxtops and did send away for goodies but for the life of me I can't remember what they were. Thanks for your trip down memory lane....gave me lots to think about as well. *smiles*

Fruity Pebbles. Taste great and have the Flintstones on the front of the box. What could be better?

We din't get cereal in boxes. We were cooked a homemade breakfast of eggs and bacon or oatmeal.
everyday for 20 years.

I thank my grandmother (she raised us) for her hard work and efforts.
