This was the first I had heard this, but it really epitomizes what the radical Islamists have in mind for all of us if we don't win the war on terror. What do you think?

How desperate do you Libs trying respond to this question have to be to resort to going back hundreds of years of American history in order to find a morale equivalence to what Muslim extremists are doing today!

Well they were forced to say that they had converted to Islam at gunpoint. It really does show just how crazy some of those Islamic radical groups are. We really should not think of all Muslims that way though, as there are radicals in every religion.

I couldn't find anything on the ABC site that said anything about a forced conversion of the journalists. The conversion starement was rhetoric aimed at the western world. Am I missing something?
Do you have another source?
I can't find any credible source that says the journalists were " forced at gunpoint to convert to Islam". Their kidnapping is criminal enough.

I seem to recall Christian missonaries doing this to Africans, Native Americans, aborigionis fron Australia, natives of Papua New Guinea, and a multitude of others... whats the differnece???
And besides, how hard can it be?? "Yes sir, Mr. Islamic terrorist - I will - no, I AM CONVERTED!" Then, youre free to go. Then, when you get back to your real life, you write an article on how freakin stupid Muslims Terrorists are for allowing you to leave, beleiving they had converted you at gunpoint! We mock them, make fun of them, and use it as proof that they are seriously deranged.

Yep, RADICAL Islam wants an all Islamic world and "Infidel" means all non muslims to them (the RADICALS).
Disturbed by what they did to the journalist...Not as much as what they did to Daniel Pearl: "My mother is a Jew, my father is a Jew, and I'm a Jew" Off with his head.

Sounds like the Islam Inquisition. I guess that pretty well establishes that Islam is about 600 years behind Christianity.

Unless you have converted in your heart, you can say whatever they want you to and you have not truly converted. Most people would do the exact same thing to stay alive.

You can say anything or pretend to convert to anything while under duress and to save your life. If telling a lie to someone with a gun at my head makes him happy them that what he will get.

It was wrong for Christians to do it in the past.
It is wrong for Muslims to do it in the past & the PRESENT.
My question is: did it really happen? I have not heard this until reading your post, not that it is improbable or anything........
