Well...don't do it on a spur of the moment thing. Think long and hard about it...and then think some more about it when you think you are through with thinking about it...

I did it for my *wife* - who I will spend the rest of my life with. It was certainly worth it, and I have no regrets about it.

Furthermore...it's not a sign of lower intelligence. I'm a very well educated man, thank you. Many very well educated people have chosen to ink themselves to show love or passion for a person or ideal.

IF he is the one and your soul-mate get it, if you have doubts don't get it. My husband and I plan on getting identical tattoos very soon. when one of us is gone that will always be there. if you split up it will remind you what your not looking for anymore and a chapter in your life which has finished. This to me, is really the point of a tattoo.
So go with your own mind not a lot of people saying NO don't get it they make you ugly (how can such a beautiful piece of artwork make someone ugly?) or yeah go for it get the tattoo. You decide and for what reasons are your own.

I have 5 tats and love them all. Remember that you are stuck with them for ever so choose something that means something. Also think about what would happens if you split up (even if ya never do!!). Would you want an ex b/f's name on your body? I have my brother's birth and death dates entwinned in the wings of a Black Pegasus on my shoulder. No one else can see it as it looks like part of the wings, but I KNOW he's with me always. Subtle is always more effective than tacky. Enjoy choosing. Your first tat is an awesome experience if you get it right. xxx

I dont think you should get it too similar you boyfriend, incase you break up. Which would be annoying later in time.
One advise, never ever tattoo someones name on your body, cause if you fight you have one big problem curved onto your body.

But you should get a tattoo, but i advise you to tattoo it somewhere its not in your sight all the time, because you might get bored of it.

Good luck!

A. Go to a reputable tattooist. Make sure he has Health certificates and that he uses a new need for each customer.

B. Dont have a persons name as you could go off him and change boyfriend in future.

C. get a design that BOTH of you agree on. I like Celtic designs, perhaps a celtic ring on your arm and your boyfriend could have a matching Celtic design

Consider this before voluntarily putting a permanent ink stain on your skin. Tattoos are more permanent than marriage vows! Marriage, considered to be the ultimate commitment, can be dissolved through divorce. Tattoos are forever.

Are your BF's tattoos from previous GFs...? Make sure that you're gonna be with this guy for life... because the tattoo you get will always be there to remind you of the possible mistake you made...

Get a tattoo if you really want one. I would advise against connected tattoos though - who knows what will happen in the future and you may regret that.

Unless you want to be returning here to ask 'whats the best way of getting rid of a tattoo?' I would seriously recommend that you don't get one
