This isn't military time. I don't know the exact term, but's it's common for time clocks to mark time this way. Each minute is counted as 1/100th of an hour and to calculate the time clock minute you take the actual number of minutes and divide by 60. For example, 15 minutes divided by 60 = .25, so 10:15 is shown as 1025. The hours are the same as military time in that a 24 hour clock is used rather than AM and PM. That's why1300 = 1:00 PM.

1100 - xxyy
xx stands for hours
yy stands for minutes
1100 - 1000 = 100
11 - 10 = 1 hour
00 - 00 = 0 minutes

another example 1150 - 0830 = 0320
11 - 08 = 03
50 - 30 = 20
answer is 3 hours 20 minutes

It works the same way. the difference between 1000 and 1100 is 60 minutes, it goes 1059-1100 Its no different than the 12 hour clock except the numbers dont start over at noon.

Andy FF has the best answer. I'd be hard pressed to explain it better.

I would only add that for yours greater than 12, subract 12 to conver to PM. For hours less than 12, convert straight to AM.
