How about somethin mythical? Cuz you can add any sort of idea into a mythical world. Let your imagination run wild. Create a main character, one that you can relate to, you know, then you feel more strongly about how you can show the characters personality, his preferences, his "ways", if you will. Then create a world around him, just close your eyes and imagine the coolest location you would wanna live in, a forest with tree-house-stlyle homes, or a desert or anythin that appeals to you. Create more characters to be your friends or family. And then if you like, you can create a quest for your character. Sorry, im not sure if this was much help, but hey i wish you all the best with your story, im sure it´ll be awesome anyway. Creativity is always awesome in my opinion. :) Good luck!

Kudzu taking over the earth has already been done. Don't remember the author but it is not an original idea so don't use it. Go for a long walk , think creatively about everything you see and sooner or later an idea will present itself.

We need more magical realism. Think Gabriel Garcica Marquez meets Isabel Allende.
