i am in the middle of reading it right now ! I actually started on the 3rd in the series and now have to buy the other 2 just to catch up on some things. I like it cuz of the added priest from a previous book of Stephen Kings. I already have all the rest that have came out. I dont usually like series. Too much of a commitment but I am trapped now.

The best thing to do would be to let her have her own decisions but I must admit that I am reading the Dark Tower at the moment and it is nothing like the rest of his books. It is an enjoyable fantasy story mixed with interesting characters with enjoyable fallabilites. However it is an acquired taste overall and is hard to read at first. It takes a while to get going.

If she's a Stephen King fan, and has read any of his books, she probably has been introduced to the world of the Dark Tower. Many of his works point in that direction. She won't be disappointed to read it.

No - No one could, sorry Stephen is a really cool guy and a genius to boot but his books suck donkey schlong. If anyone tries to convince her to read them then they are utterly crackers or completely bananas.

Can you convince me? My mum bought me the whole series for Christmas last year and I can't bring myself to read them. They look a bit deep. Are they good?

Indeed, it is. Just don't read the book while there is a storm outside; you might think you are part of the story itself.

Yeah I'll kidnap her and lock her up until she reads it's fully through.

OK OK seriously...I'll sit there in a pub with her (and you obviously) and we'll all argue it out till the death!

I'm sure we'll win yeah?

:-)
