I've had many yeast infections due to taking antibiotics. Douching can also cause a yeast infection since it upsets the natural ph balance of the vagina. I don't understand why their called yeast infections, instead of yeast over growth, since every woman has yeast present in her body. It's just when the yeast multiplies is when it's a problem. Symptoms are a thick, white discharge that can look alot like paste, or cottage cheese. Usually there is no odor. You'll itch like crazy, and could even have some swelling and burning. It's no big deal, there are over the counter products you can buy at Wal-Mart (Monistat) but if you're not sure that's what you have, see a doctor first for a proper diagnosis. If you do go see the doctor and that's what it is, ask for a Difloucan pill, that will clear it right up and you won't have to mess with the Monistat cream or suppositories.

A vaginal yeast infection is an excess growth of yeast cells in the vagina. Yeast infections are very common in women of childbearing age but can occur at any age. Although they can be uncomfortable, vaginal yeast infections rarely lead to serious health problems.

Vaginal itching.
Irritated genital skin.
Pain or burning in the genital area with urination or sexual intercourse.
In some cases, white vaginal discharge that is usually curdlike and odorless. Some women have no noticeable discharge

I hope that helps you out
