i had mine 5 weeks ago. the pain for the first 2-4 days is harsh, but the drugs are great! things start to get easier day by day after that. on week 3 i was getting tired of hurting, but i was able to do things again. it doesnt keep you down very long. i was walking around fairly well by day 3. there are a lot of things you will need help with, have a spouse or a good friend handy. any more questions just email me.

My mother had one and it didn't feel a thing she said. Hysterectomy is a major surgical procedure that requires anaesthesia. But not major in a sense that is life-threathening as a heart-bypass. Hysterectomy is something common nowadays and recovery would take only a few weeks (perhaps similar to that of an appendectomy.)

January 9, 1997 I had a full hysterectomy and it was wonderful! I love not have periods anymore or cramps and all the mess that comes with it. I listened to my doctor and started doing little bits of walking daily and I was back to work in three weeks! Today they are even better. My prayers are with you!

yes you will hurt for about a month or so and it will be very hard to get up and down until the stitches start to heal. I had my about 10 years ago and it did hurt alot but it is worth it after all is over.
just don't pick up anything for about a month and take your time to heal.
