Not only about how they treat Indian women but also their approach to intercultural relationships. My Indian friend and I were having a tense discussion about this. Please tell me your nationality when you reply, thanks :)

Most Indian men, keeping alive old stereotypes, have sex only at night in their bedrooms and believe having sex with their wives is their marital right, a survey has revealed.
Most importantly, a majority 56 percent of survey respondents said they are happy with their sex lives.
Around 59 percent of respondents in a survey done by the India Today magazine, AC Nielsen and ORG-MARG said they prefer having sex after sundown and in their beds.
An overwhelming majority, 89 percent, said sex was important in their lives in the survey conducted by talking to men between the ages of 18 and 55 years across 11 cities.
Around 80 percent of the respondents said sex is their matrimonial right and man on top is the favourite position for 47 percent, according to the survey.

The survey brings out several contradictions in India, the land of the Kamasutra but where sex is still not openly discussed.

For instance, only 24 percent said that they feared their partner's disloyalty in a relationship, but 39 percent said they were extremely or reasonably possessive about their partner.

Most men, about 71 percent, said it was unacceptable for their partners to have fantasies about other men while making love.

Around 37 percent said they have sex more than once a week, while 30 percent have multiple orgasms.
Among the other revelations of the survey are that 40 percent of Indian men are sometimes bored with sex in their marriage, 45 percent first had intercourse on their nuptial night, 63 percent had never paid for sex, 73 percent never had homosexual experience and 67 percent never had extramarital sex.

But if they were to have extramarital sex, 45 percent would prefer someone younger than them, while 42 percent say that they've had "a few" sexual partners outside marriage.

In variety of experiences, men from the smaller towns and countryside scored ahead of their city cousins in the survey.

In Chandigarh, for instance, 80 percent men felt that women confused sex with commitment, while 67 percent of the men from Jaipur said they preferred long foreplay.

Stereotype: Both men and women will be cheap dates if they're in charge of paying. If you have to pay, they'll expect something nice.

I conclude this based on experience with them day-to-day. I've yet to find a single person of Indian descent that isn't absolutely tight with their finances.

Edit to add: I'm an American caucasian.

I'm a white American. I've never dated or married any Indian men, but I've heard that women are treated as unequals in India (have to stay hom eand take care of the kids/house, have to walk 20 feet behind the man, have to basically wait on the family [esp. the husband] hand and foot).

The only stereotype I can think of is Apu from "the Simpsons." Either that, or poor diseased lepers in the dregs of Calcutta.
I'm American, by the way.

marraiges will be arranged, so there will be no dating. women don't have as many rights and allows the man to make decisions... but that is slowly changing.
