the average life expectancy for a woman is just longer, here's some info I found-

Life expectancy

Life expectancy of a group of people at any given age is the average number of years that they have remaining to live. "Life expectancy at birth" (abbreviated as e0) is also called average life span or mean life span. This is distinct from maximum life span. Life expectancy at birth should not be confused with median survival time (the time by which 50% of a cohort will have died).

Typically however, life expectancy is not calculated from the number of years actually lived by the members of the group. Instead, it is calculated synthetically from age-specific death rates of people alive at the beginning of a given time-period (typically a given calendar year or group of years).

Thus, typical life expectancies for the current year reflect current age-specific death rates and are not predictions or projections about life expectancy or mortality in the future. Since, in general, longevity is increasing in human societies, the current life expectancy statistic for a given society will be an underestimate of the actual average life span of people born today. For this reason, if someone bore an infant in 2005 in a society in which the "life expectancy at birth" (e0) was 70 years in 2005, it is likely that this child will live longer than 70 years.

Although it common to talk about life expectancy of any living being ranging from trees, insects, dogs, stroke victims, to mine workers, this article focuses on human life expectancy in general, that is, the aging and longevity profile of the human species.

Overview
Human life expectancy at various ages and under different circumstances is carefully studied by the insurance and actuarial professions, and is calculated on the basis of historic data as shown on the mortality or annuity table used as a reference.

By way of example, if people that are aged 60 live 10 more years on the average in a country, the life expectancy of people aged 60 in that country is said to be 10. If an age is not specified, life expectancy is understood to be from birth; therefore, a statement such as "the life expectancy of group A is higher than that of group B" represents data indicating that members of group A live longer on the average than members of group B. The fact that an average is calculated over a subset of the population makes life expectancy a statistical measure.

Notice that the life expectancy is heavily dependent on the criteria used to select the group. In countries with high infant mortality rates, the life expectancy at birth is highly sensitive to the rate of death in the first few years of life. In these cases, another measure such as life expectancy at age 10 can be used to exclude the effects of infant mortality to reveal the effects of other causes of death. Typically, life expectancy at birth is specified. To calculate it, it is assumed that current mortality levels remain constant throughout the lives of the hypothetical newborns.

Some facts i know:

Single men die younger, and married men live longer.

Married men die before their spouse because generally they are older.

Married family men die before their wife because of stress due to supporting the family.

wrong!

polls show that, there are more widowers in america than widows!

i am sorry for the person who lost his father and were unfortunate enough to see more people of the same fate!

and one more scientific reason is because, men marry younger women, and women like older men, so naturally who dies first?

and men drink and smoke more that women and get in more fights than women, so obviously, its a great but short life!

men die before women. its something about the way they live. they don't go to the doctor enough, they do more dangerous things, they keep their feelings inside, etc.
