I want to get pictures done this next weekend of my newborn, but she just seems to have lots of white heads on her face and to be getting more. And I don't want them to ruin the pictures. I've heard before that you aren't suppose to scrub them or squeeze them. But I was wondering if anyone has found a way to get rid of them that's doctor approved?

time is all that will fix them. they are called milk bumps and are not a pimple. Use a good baby soap and give warm(luke warm) bathes at wake up and beddy bye ( and when yucky poo poo everywhere) and let the baby get sun(10 min a couple times a day ) and air on the skin, and step away from the baby lotion as far as faces goes till this clears up. Oh yeah,Mommy, we all think baby's with milk bumps are just too cute, so don't feel bad.

Just leave them alone, they will go away on their own.

Having millia (white heads) is normal for a baby and it won't ruin the pictures. It's a phase in the life of a baby, why try and get rid of it. Get more pictures done when she is older (ie.6mths, 9mths, 1 yr) and the millia has gone.

Don't be so focused on the apprearance, the family will love the pictures of your newborn. I'm sure they won't look at them and say "look at all those white heads on her face".

Capture what she looks like now, they are so little for such a short period of time.

My son has this "baby acne" and I had his pictures done last week. The pictures came back wonderful and you can not even tell they the bumps are there. Regardless if you were able to tell I would not worry so much about your baby's appearance. You have a beautiful new baby girl and you should cherish every moment, bumps or no bumps.

There really isn't anything you can do. There is a condition out there that is called Milia. It is basically when your newborn has lots of white dots. They aren't really white heads. Either way just leave them alone and wash her face everynight!!!

When you have acne it’s really important to keep your skin clean and to have a healthy diet, so drink lots of water (and green tea!) and exfoliate once a week (twice if you have oily skin) with a paste of honey, lemon and sugar. For creams to use, look up the Monsia skincare line, they have everything you need to keep your skin clean and to clear and brighten it up. They give you the moisturizer (with sunscreen), toner, cleanser and night repair cream. If you use all that and exfoliate and eat properly then your acne will disappear, I know because that’s what I did.

They will go away naturally. Don't worry about them ruining your baby's picture because any picture of your baby with or without the spots will be beautiful.

You leave them alone. Newborns have very delicate skin. Don't put anything on her skin and don't squeeze them. Either wait to get the pix taken or have them retouched if you think it looks bad.

Nothing! Squeezing them will only cause infections and they will get worse! Just wash her face a few times a day and use Cetaphil cream.

they're called milk spots, it's normal. my daughter had them too. they go away over time. if your going to have pictures taken, the camera may not even pick them up. if your really concerned about it, talk to the photographer, he might be able to do something with the camers. try doing a black and white picture, they come out beautiful.
