say I've been waiting for this all my life. If they want a musical career that much why haven't they gone the traditional route?

A lot of people over dramatize for the screen. It makes "better" tv.

Because the traditional route doesn't guarantee any more success than the X-factor route, and there's nothing to lose from goin on it (other than the respect of the nation if you're rubbish and not funny)

Me and my husband said the same thing Saturday!!! We came to the conclusion that they are just fame hungry idiots who think they're something there not.
Most of these people wouldn't even know where to begin, and to audition for the X Factor is just an easy route.

because they stupidly assume that by appearing on tv and making complete pricks of themselves would mean instant fame and success, when in truth that is a load of bull. they prefer to take the easy route, the ***** route instead of doing what they should be doing and performing in bars and clubs. and like yourself i agree too that those who go on the show believing they can sing when they can't are just wasting people's time, as well as using up a lot of airtime just to hummiliate themselves in public.

they're just desperate, and sad. proving that once and for all that fame does indeed rear its ugly head. or theirs for that matter.

they're obviously not good enough. The X-Factor is just another way of our failing TV companies scams to make money through premium rate phone calls

It is because they not only are fame hungry idiots but they are also ignorant as to how to get into the music business for real, i.e. with talent.
