It all depends on what your period was on the 18th, if it was just some spotting or light bleeding then that would be completely normal and go together with your date of August 27th since it is very common to have light bleeding/spotting before what most people would consider their actually period.
Since you're going to try and get pregnant there's a couple things you need to remember, you need to start charting your period and keep in mind that "spotting" is considered the start of your cycle.
Keep in mind that the pill can also remain in your system for up to 1 year after you stop taking it, so don't be worried if you don't get pregnant at first.
I have included a link to help you track your cycle and symptoms.
Best of luck to you!!

I would wait until next month before you start counting dates. hopefully you don't get your period all spread out over the month, like 1 month on the 12 the next month on the 28 and so on.....that happened to me when I went off the pill and it took quite some time before I balanced back out.

your period probably only went for two days because you stopped taking the pill. you should start counting from the 27th. Good luck on conception.

Don't get alarmed that if you are pregnant there will be any problems because you just came off the pill, now adays the pills are so weak that it won't really cause anything major if you don't wait to try getting pregnant. I tried right away both times and they're fine.

the hormone levels are off balance because you were taking birth control. It is normal to have strange and erratic cycles once you stop because your hormones react to the lack of chemical in your blood stream. Some doctors say it can take up to a year for the body to adjust to having spend years on birth control.

After stopping the pill, it is not unusual for your cycle to be messed up for awhile. If it doesn't straigten up in a month or two, go see the doc.
