Hell no! We need Favre for at least one more season. Rodgers is not ready yet. And in the weak NFC Central the Packers still can compete. They added Hawk on D and Jennings on Offense. They will be a lot better this year and you will be thankful that Favre came back for another year! GO PACKERS!!

Who doesn't love watching him play as he is an awesome attribute to the Pack and the NFL. But, the Packers are in rebuilding mode and the season may hang in the balance. This may result in another frustrating year for Favre but should give the Packers a full season to evaluate and put the pieces together for next season and beyond. Favre probably should have retired but his competitive nature and the challenge just wouldn't allow it.

I am a die-hard Cowboys fan, but have always liked and respected Favre. So glad he got his SB victory!! Having said that, I think he should have retired last year. While Favre may have another year left in him, the team around him is not what is was a few years ago. I am sad to think that they will struggle and he will likely throw many int's and get sacked a lot. I hate to see him go out that way.

I'm completely shocked that he returned for another year. I thought for sure he'd walk away after that abysmal Monday night game last October/November, when their opponent (Philly, maybe? I'm an AFC girl, so I'm not as conversant with NFC stats) just beat the ever-lovin' crap out of them.

It's not the loss that I figured would get to him, but rather the way the 21 other guys on the field (the other 10 on O and the 11 guys on D) just gave up on him. Say what you will about Favre, but the man is a competitor, and he kept his competitive spirit up in that game long after most rational people would have. I thought he'd resent having ALL of his guys basically quit on him.

Guess I was wrong.

He may well have another year in him, but I'm not sure the rest of his team will be able to contribute to his aspiration of a winning season.

unfortunately sports players never seem to want to retire at the top of the game when they should
however they would not be the stars they are without that competitive nature that keeps them going past their prime
hopefully he has a better year than last and then retires or stays on as a quarterback coach.....he has lots of knowledge to share with up and comers

no....brett favre should have retired at the end of the 2004 season...last year was such a disaster....it does not look like this guy wants to leave on a good note....the packers have no chance this year

Me, as a Bears fan, am really glad he is playing this year.... We may actually have a shot of beating you guys...
But seriously, I really don't think he would want to end his career on the low that was last year. He's a great player and a great guy that deserves to go out on a high note....

i read the article where he said that he was very motivated to come back for one more season......... its great to see how much he loves the game but he's a real tired guy as far as his health is concerned. I dont think he can complete another full season

That remains to be seen. There have been some quarterbacks who have played great when they got older. I personally think he should have retired though.

He's earned the right to make decisions regardless of weather they're right or wrong.
