Is it a good thing to position the screen at 20 or 30 degrees from the straight line of the keyboard, in other words to position it NOT directly in front of your head but a bit on one side, left or right so that you have to turn your head when watching the screen? This way when you want to think or rest you DON'T have the light or the pictures anyway straight on your eyes. Or is it a bad idea for the neck muscles and the back?

Dr. Scott J. Heun says: Contrary to popular opinion, the ideal position for your computer monitor is not at or below eye level.

For the past few years, I have been teaching patients to raise up the monitor height, so that the middle of the monitor is above eye level. This facilitates an improved neck and head position, and therefore reduces abnormal stress and strain upon the neck and shoulder muscles.

It might strain your neck a little if you look at the monitor for a long time but it shouldn't really matter that much.
