Burning takes longer so there would most likely be more suffering. So I would believe this would be more traumatic. Especially since most compare this to hell or going to hell. You wouldn't look very good in your casket if you were burned a lot. Most likely they would just have to finish it by cremating your body. From your picture this would be even more traumatic for those who loved or admired you. Drowning is like going back to the womb and preserves your looks and is like a baptism in death. They usually wash the body before the wake also. So in a way they are opposites.

I have burned myself lots of times due to my job and I can tell you that definitely being burned is a lot worse than drowning.

BURNING! Drowning is a struggle, but you eventually give up. Burning, you have no choice but to get toasted in a flame and die a slow, PAINFUL-@$$ death. Less pain with drowning.

PS- I wouldn't drown =D I'm a great swimmer!

Burning because you have to 'live' through alot of it... It takes alot of time for the flame to eat through your skin. On top of that it takes a long time for most people to pass out from the pain and shock. Burning to death can take up to 20 minutes sometimes.
Drowning is pretty peaceful compared to burning to death because when you expel that last breath and inhale some lungs full of water it pretty much ends and the only real pain is psychological. Also most people can't hold their breath for over 2 minutes.

Burning by far, I think I would much rather drown anyways, your going to inhale a bunch of water and then lose conscieness shortly after that, burning you could remain alive for several minutes screaming and suffering, that sounds a lot more painful to me by far
