I don't think so.
I bartend some at a place that does a lot of weddings, and the poor girl there that was the wedding planner once told me she was only making $24,000 a year doing 2-3 weddings a week! I have no idea if that is unusually low, though.

It depends where you are located. That old phrase "location, location, location" fits with this job market.
If you are not in a high end wedding destination area then most likely you will not make more than 20,000 a year and that is stretching it.
Being a wedding planner or an event planner is very hard work. Keep in mind that you are not just dealing with the bride and groom but their family, friends, and whoever else thinks they want to throw in their 2 cents worth.
It is a very rewarding career if you are in the right city, have the deep pockets to get your business started and the right contacts. If you don't advertise and get a good book going then most likely the business won't take off.
If you are seriously thinking about doing it try planning a friends wedding first and see if this is something that you really want to get into.
Best of luck to you!

It depends on who they plan for. Planning for the rich of coz will pay you well, but planning for church wedding, friends are just minimum charges. So I'll say, it depend who your customers are.
